  • Fresh Turmeric Tea 
yields aprox 1 quart

Ingredients:
-1/2 lb fresh turmeric
-3 cups scalding hot water
-1/4 lb fresh ginger, grated
-juice of 8 oranges
-juice of 3 lemons
-1/4 cup raw brown sugar or honey 

1. Using a microplane, grate turmeric (with skin) into a large bowl.  Add hot water. Cover and let sit for at least 10 minutes, up to 24 hours.
2. Strain water of turmeric fiber and squeeze pulp for any excess liquid; discard fibers.
3. Add remaining ingredients.
4. Stir well and chill in fridge over night.

*If not drinking right away, be sure to stir before serving- it will separate.

*Also delicious served warm without sparkling water.
